John Patterson, Full Count Administrator

John grew up in Brooklyn, New York, listening on the radio to the Make Believe Ballroom with Martin Block and later with William B. Williams. The sounds of all the famous Big Bands and the great vocalists like Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald filled the airways during the 40’s and 50’s and planted the seeds of appreciation for this vibrant music in John.

Harry James was the inspiration for John and he began the lifetime journey to overcome the never-ending challenge of playing the Trumpet.

John’s love of the Big Band sound was nourished during his active military duty time spent in the U.S. Marine Corps when he spent many hours not only developing his trumpet skills in the marching bands but in the big and small dance bands that were playing all the Jazz charts of the masters like Basie, Herman, Kenton and Miller.

Today John’s labor of love is not only sitting in with the talented trumpet section of Full Count but in performing the administrative functions that go on behind the scenes that are so necessary to make the band a success.
